About The Tahoe Chamber Music Society
The Tahoe Chamber Music Society is a (501c3) non-profit performing arts organization that has presented free chamber recitals to the Northern Nevada/Lake Tahoe region for 43 years. Aaron Paxson, former Artistic Director of the organization, made it his central focus to present six concerts every summer free of charge so that any who had interest could attend.
Our current mission is to enrich the cultural landscape of Reno/Tahoe by hosting free chamber music recitals performed by the finest local and national talent, and cultivate sustainable audience growth through educational outreach.
We invite all who wish to support our work to donate by mail or online via PayPal.

Since 2016, the Tahoe Chamber Music Society has made a priority of creating educational opportunities for the young musicians in the Washoe County Schools. We have conducted master classes with violinist Yuki Numata Resnick, founder of Buffalo String Works, violinist Justin Bruns, Associate Concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and in the summer of 2020, we will host a master class with percussionist Lynn Vartan. We have hosted a weekend long cello workshop with guest instructors Katharine Knight and Zachary Sweet, and in the spring of 2018, we held an audition workshop for students who were planning to audition for the Reno Philharmonic youth orchestras. It is our goal to continue to offer opportunities for the young musicians of Northern Nevada to benefit from the educational influence of our guest artists.
